Veterans Housing Services offers assistance with all Veteran Administration grants for home modifications. Even though your disability is not service related, there maybe help available. Below is a list of Grants that are being offered by the VA:

"HISA Grant"

Home improvements and structural alterations

Up to $6,800.00 if service connected

Up to $2,000.00 if non service related

"SAH Grant"

Special adapted housing

Up to $63,780 if service connected

"SHA Grant"

Special Housing adaptations

Up to $12,756.00 if service connected

100% vision impaired

Loss of both legs or arms

"TRA Grant"

Temporary residence adaptations

Modification of family home without ownership

Amounts drawn from "SAH" and "SHA" grants

Total possible amount is $16,000.00
